Myrtle Beach real estate faring better
Tom O'Dare
Myrtle Beach real estate prospects seem to be weathering the economic storm better than most parts of the country. Though the economic downturn has trickled into the Grand Strand, Myrtle Beach real estate professionals say that is buyers are beginning to come out of the woodwork to find primary and vacation homes. Buyers are finding that many homes up for sale can be found at more reasonable prices than were on the market three to five years ago when prices skyrocketed everywhere. Real estate in Myrtle Beach, agents say, has seen a gradual turnaround over the last couple of months. Homes that had been sitting on the market are now getting attention. More people are on the road checking out potential purchase opportunities. More prospects are looking at homes in the moderate range under the $300,000 ceiling than before. Analysts say this could be attributed to more and more people looking to retire to the Myrtle Beach area. Where before, Florida had been a prime retirement destination, the Myrtle Beach real estate market has become more enticing to retirees with a generally lower cost of living and a moderate year-round climate. Myrtle Beach real estate analysts say that signs indicate that by the second quarter of 2009, even the slowed condo market should start to see a rebound, as well.
