Avista ResortCourtesy of TripAdvisor Reviews for Avista Resort
October 9, 2011- Just finished another trip to Avista and the weather was absolutely perfect! The resort was again in great shape and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Nothing like a nice hot jacuzzi after a round of golf and dinner and a cocktail, all on site. We had an oceanview room and the wall of windows, really opens up the room and makes its brighter. Excellent facilities and will be returning for a week at Thanksgiving. Far and away the best property in all of Myrtle Beach. September 12, 2011 - We vacationed at the Avista Resort for a girl's weekend of shopping, eating and relaxation. We thought to save a little money, we would do Oceanview rather than Oceanfront. Our room was beautiful. It had 2 balconies and we had a 180 degree view of the beach and down the street for blocks. It was very clean and spacious with 2 flat screen tvs, wifi, plenty of towels and fully stocked kitchen which had no less than 3 corkscrews. Pool area was clean, and relaxing with plenty of chairs and beach access was convenient. We loved our stay and will definitely comeback. August 28, 2011 - I have stayed at the Avista many times. It has always been wonderful. The staff is willing to lend a hand with anything you need. They will help you unpack your car and bring your belongings to your room. The maid service is very friendly and trustworthy. The front desk staff is very helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious and clean. The pools and lazy rivers are wonderful. I love sitting by the pool listening to music playing and sometimes having a cocktail from the poolside bar. Also some weekends they have a dj and it is so much fun. If you are looking for a great place to stay the Avista is your place. August 8, 2011 - Resort is conveniently located. Room was very clean with surprising extra houskeeping touches. We had a 1 bedroom for 3 of us and it was more than sufficient. The galley kitchen is a bit tight but we did not cook, staying only 1 night. Bathroom was large with a jacuzzi tub and had what we needed. Fitness room was well equipped. Did not use pool much but it provided a break from the beach. Somewhat crowded in mid-day but to be expected. Check-in a bit hectic due to the volume of travellers arriving and most weary from a long day driving but staff handled them patiently. Parking garage tight (Surburban owners may find it challenging) but adequate . Always found a parking spot when returning from an outing. We did not eat at the restaurant, preferring to eat at one of the NMB restaurants - Golden Griddle for breakfast - highly recommend - and Carabas - good basic Italian and recommend calling ahead. July 26, 2011 - This was a long overdue vacation that turned out to be absolutely fantastic. We were greeted with friendly and smiling faces. Our room was clean, beds were comfortable, kitchen and bathroom were and well stocked with an amazing ocean front view. We loved the pool area and pool bar and spent a good amount of time there. The beach of course was a hop away :) We truly received exceptional service. We had a wonderful wonderful long overdue vacation and we plan on going back!!!!!! July 10, 2011 - The Avista is a really nice place to stay. The staff is friendly and helpful and the amenities are really good. We loved the pools, lazy rivers, and jacuzzi's. The atmosphere was very good also with music at the pool area. We would definitly stay at The Avista again. June 20, 2011 - This was our first visit to Avista Resort. The staff was very helpful, even accommodating when we arrived a day early. The view from our balcony was amazing! Rooms were spacious and CLEAN! The restaurant staff was friendly and even enthusiastic during our post-wedding brunch. We would definitely recommend Avista to friends and we plan to stay here again next year. June 5, 2011 - We really enjoyed our stay. There were three of us - mom, me and my daughter. My daughter and I stayed in the room and my mother stayed in the pull down bed in the living room area. It was strange that the bathroom was in the bedroom and not in an area accessible to all of us without entering the room. Other than that, the stay was wonderful. The view was great with easy access to the beach. All of the pools were great. We enjoyed swimming inside and outside. Would not recommend visiting during either biker week, unless you like that kind of thing. We found the mass numbers overwhelming and the noise level disturbing. They totally took over the parking garage, but overall, we didn't have any trouble with the bikers, personally. May 21, 2011 - The one bedroom Type L layout has floor to ceiling glass in the living room providing an awesome view of the beach and the city. The Avista Resort has an on-site restaurant, bar, indoor heated pool, indoor hot tub, and workout room! The Avista staff are friendly and address your needs. Easy access to Highway 31 makes Broadway At The Beach a short trip. We have stayed at the Avista several times of the last few years and are considering buying a condo there! Apr 28, 2011 - The Avista Resort is THE best resort I have ever stayed in on the grand strand. We have stayed at many other resorts, but the hospitality of the Avista matches no other... We love to go and stay there, and we have stayed there at least 15 times... We will definitely visit again!! Apr 27, 2011 - I was very excited to find this resort and very much looked forward to our vacation. Sadly, for me, it began on a not so friendly note. The gal who checked me in seemed distracted and almost annoyed that I had disturbed her. People have bad days, but when one is in the business of pleasing people my belief is "get over it." I had paid for the "Prince" package as my son's birthday fell on one of the days during our trip. A nice bunch of balloons, a crown, a sword and a small bag of Hershey's Kisses awaited him in our room. There were also three or four "towel animals" but come on, this was for a five year old? The website led me to believe the package would have been so much more. For example, when my son wore his crown he would receive "VIP treatment throughout your stay." Aside from two, "oh there is the king," there was nothing. I will say that housekeeping was exceptional. I left the room with some dishes in the sink. When I returned I was pleasantly surprised to find them running in the dishwasher. I am a tidy traveler and should have left more work for a clearly conscientious employee. Apr 24, 2011 - Just got back from 5 nights at the Avista with my husband and 3 children (14,11,7). We stayed in a 3 bedroom end unit that was the perfect size for all of us. We could have easily added 1 or 2 more people and not felt crowded. The pools were fantastic and the location of the hotel, right on the beach, was amazing. With all of the things that there are to do in Myrtle Beach, we ended up staying right at the resort for 3 out of the 4 days because we were so happy and relaxed there. We traveled with friends, another family of 5 with younger children who happily fit into a 2 bedroom unit. The resort accommodated our request to be on the same floor as they were. Everything went as we had hoped and our experience was better than we ever expected. Beds were comfortable, maid service came when we wanted it to (door hanger to use for maid service) and did a good job. Full kitchen, big balcony with a beautiful view. Already thinking about going back next year. Apr 19, 2011 - We recently returned from our Springtime vacation with the kids and family and had a wonderful time. Not only did the Avista redo the pools and update the look, but we stayed in a one bedroom condo (#1625) and it was great, with brand new upgrades throughout the unit. We saw the new tags on the King Sized bed and washer/dryer. The flat screens were nice and the kids watched DVDs in the family room. We traveled with additional family for an event there, but there unit was not updated like ours, and hence we all hung out in our room in the evenings. Avista thank you again for showing us a great time, and please update all the rooms like you did in #1625. Thank you. Apr 13, 2011 - My family has gone to the Myrtle Beach area every year for the past 34 years. The past two years we have stayed at Avista Resort and no other resort in the Myrtle Beach area can touch them. We are proud to say that we are returning guest at Avista Resort and recommend Avista to everyone we know. Send us your review of Avista Resort today.
