Beach Colony ResortCourtesy of TripAdvisor Reviews for Beach Colony Resort of Myrtle Beach
October 25, 2011 - Me and my boyfriend have stayed at the Beach Colony Resort the last 5-6 trips that we made to Myrtle Beach SC. We really enjoy your self when we go there. We usually go in October and it is quite and really enjoyable because its not crowded, last year we spent New Years at BCR also. We enjoyed the lazy river in the past visits, the indoor pool and the bar. The good thing is that you do not have to go out for breakfast they have the buffet right there in the resort. And its real breakfast food bacon. eggs, grits etc. We always try to get ocean front and just relax and sit on the balcony and watch the ocean the sunrise in the morning is really a great sight. This is a great place to stay and I recommend it to anyone. October 17, 2011 - We love, love, love BCR! This was our sixth year and, as always, our vacation was perfect. The ocean views are spectacular, the units are lovely and the resort staff is terrific from Fred at the front desk, to Roger the friendly maintenance supervisor, to Derek the best bartender ever. We were there in May 2011 and again in Sept.- Oct. and can't wait to get back! The only bad thing about Beach Colony is having to leave. September 27, 2011 - Stayed at The Beach Colony September 11-15, 2011 in unit 303. The unit was clean but could use some updating. We have stayed here in May and September for several years. Your best practice is to ask to see the unit before you pay the balance. There are many really nice units and several that are not so nice. The grounds are very well kept and comfortable, and we have always found the staff to be friendly and willing to address any problems. There were lots of guests here at this time but there was no place on premises to have lunch since the lounge only opens at 4PM during this time of the year except for the weekend. This is really a bad policy. September 5, 2011 - This was my first time visiting. I looked at pictures online and hoped that the rooms looked just like the pictures, and much to my surprise they were better than the pictures. It is a home away from home. They had a nice view of the beach, the house keepers were very nice, receptionists were very nice, rooms were very very clean, everything was excellent. Everything you need is right there for you. I would advise everyone to come because I am coming back next year. August 20, 2011 - We were unsure of where to stay because this was our first time vacationing in Myrtle Beach. Thankfully, we made a great choice. Check-in was fast and easy and our room was nice and had an amazing view. We didn't want to leave. The housekeeping services were great as well, we always had plenty of towels and supplies. The only negative thing I have to say about the hotel was our sofa was stained. Other than that it was clean, nice and the ocean cafe and lounge was great. We loved the pool and the lazy river. Also, the hotel is located right on the beach. I would definitly go back if I had the opportunity! August 5, 2011 - My fiance and our best friends went for a trip and had a blast! Our room was EXACTLY how we saw it on the website very spacious and had a pool bar downstairs AND beach access (which is awesome). Our housekeeper's name was Rochelle she was phenomenal and very helpful when we needed anything. The front desk was very polite however when i tried calling down there i always got a busy tone as if someone took the phone off the hook, lol. There are a couple downsides to the hotel, PARKING PARKING PARKING. Parking here is horrendous, the parking garage is ideal for one way up and one way down, meaning if there's a car coming up/down i suggest you back up and get very far out of the way because its extremely narrow, so have good driving skills. If your a younger couple like us, the pool bar closes at i think 9/10ish which kinda stinks if you don't want to drive anywhere to drink. The price of the hotel is reasonable(for 5 days), but if its just you and your significant other there are plenty of beautiful places to stay for more reasonable prices (thank god we went with another couple or we would have been broke our whole trip! lol). We had a pleasant stay overall the hotel does have a full kitchen and a full size fridge which is very accommodating when staying for about a week, there are two larger size pools, a baby pool, a jacuzzi and a small lazy river. The food downstairs at the pool bar/restaurant is good (Chicken philly cheese steak is good), VOODOO JUICE IS AMAZING (but its 15.00 just fyi) July 28, 2011 - My husband and I stayed here about a week ago for 4 days and 3 nights and everything was wonderful! The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were perfect! We also ate at the breakfast buffet and it was a lot of food for a little money! The only thing that was wrong in our room was that the carpet was messed up around the mini fridge where we couldn't open it but we fixed it. Thank you for a wonderful trip! June 25, 2011 - Great hotel! We stayed on the 5 th floor in a 2 bedroom very clean and nice! The people who worked there are super nice and helpful! We had a wonderful nice maid always checked on us got what we needed always happy and smiling! The hotel is in a very good location peaceful! I love that hotel May 31, 2011 - My best friend and I stayed in an ocean front two bedroom condo on May 27-30 for black bikers weekend. We arrived around 2pm, our room was ready and we were allowed to check in. The check in process went smoothly and front desk provided excellent customer service. The rooms were very clean and it was perfect for our vacation. We had a full kitchen with all appliances. We had ample towels and supplies in the room. We had housekeeping daily and overall I was very pleased with the stay. I must mention we had the breakfast buffet package and we attended breakfast only one day. The breakfast was pretty good, especially it being a buffet. I didn't visit the indoor pool area or the arcade but hung out at the outdoor pools which included the lazy river and jacuzzi. This resort is also right on the beach so we didn't have far to walk. I really enjoyed my stay and am thinking of returning for my b-day. Overall, I was impressed with this resort. Apr 25, 2011 - We take our annual (sometimes twice a year) trip to Myrtle Beach and stay at Beach Colony. We always book with Ken at the front desk and always request room 1405 (the Eckhart suite). The facilities are always nice, clean and constantly being maintained or upgraded. We always go off season so it is quiet and not crowded and extremely affordable. The suite is wonderful. It is on the 14th floor and fully faces the ocean with a nice sized balcony. The Suite can sleeps six including the fold out sofa bed. The bedroom is huge with two queen sized beds and TV, safe, closet, ironing board, and dressers. The bedroom has fold open doors for a view of the ocean. The living room/kitchen is nice with a TV, dinette table, sofa, full size oven, full size refrigerator (some rooms don't), full sized kitchen sink, pots & pans, all the utensils you need, and a coffee maker. We find that making lunches and some dinners in the room is a great. The breakfast buffet is awesome. I could go on and on about the fitness room, racquetball court, indoor heated pool, spa and sauna, or I could tell you about the two outdoor pools, spa, hammocks, or lazy river, but… nothing beats the beach! The beach is only a few yards away on a short boardwalk. We LOVE this place! The staff, the facilities, the beach, you can’t beat Beach Colony for a great vacation or retreat. Apr 24, 2011 - Had a wonderful time. Waking up to the sunrise. Sleeping with the sound of the ocean waves. Stayed in an ocean front suite. The suite was equipped with a wonderful king bed and balcony on the ocean front. Enjoyed the outdoor heated pool, lazy river, and hot tub (105) as well as the indoor pool and hot tub. The outdoor pool is ocean front. Can't beat it for a very beautiful and relaxing time. The hotel is located on a beautiful section of Myrtle Beach. I believe someone called it, "The Million Dollar Mile." Apr 21, 2011 - The resort was very helpful as we arrived early Sunday morning after driving 10 hours. We checked in and were able to park, change and use anything at the hotel until our room was ready. The hotel has two nice pools, a kiddie pool, a hot tub and lazy river outside. The pool bar and restaurant was great. We enjoyed happy hour, dinner and a breakfast at the hotel. The grounds are clean, people are great, and we never seemed crowded. The beach is very close. We took a cab to the surrounding attractions with no problem. The room was large, clean and had everything we needed, included laundry in the master bathroom. Apr 15, 2011 - The Beach Colony Resort had everything we needed and then some... We went for Spring Break (5 nights) in early April. Enjoyed a fun week w/our family. We stayed in an executive suite which had a efficiency kitchen, balcony and an ocean view. We made breakfast in our rm as well as most lunches (allowing us to sleep-in and run down to the beach before showering - lol!) taking our showers after lunch and heading out to explore the area/activities. Our suite was perfect for our needs (having a sofabed for our 11-yr-old, allowing mom & dad their own rm/privacy). We enjoyed the cable televisions in the living rm as well as the bedroom. Bathroom had two sinks (which helped when we were getting ready), bath/shower combo. My daughter would say the LAZY RIVER was her favorite. We enjoyed the adult pool and hot tub also (plus, there is a kiddie pool and a family pool). Right on the beach w/ocean views, lots of chaise lounges, beach/pool towel available at front desk so you do not have to worry about drying your own towels (a laundry room is available to guests if you require). Cabanas were available to rent but we didn't find that necessary. Our fridge didn't have a working icemaker (I don't think it was hooked-up to the water) but we did find ice-cube trays in the cabinet and used those - not a problem for us. There was an ice machine down the hall, too if we were desperate for ice. Kitchen was equipped w/dishes, pots & pans, dish cloth + towel (changed daily), utinsels, toaster, microwave, mixing bowls, blender, coffee maker & supplies + coffee, a couple of pitchers, and baking pans - most everything you'd need to make meals if you wanted to in the rm. We brought our waffle iron and George Forman grill along for quick breakfasts/lunches. This was a fun time for our family over spring break - and I would recommend this for couples/families who want a nice, relaxing time on the beach together. Apr 9, 2011 - We have always stayed at the same place when we travel to Myrtle Beach but this time we decided to try another place and we were so glad we did. Rooms are more like a little apartment. Plenty of room and a wonderful view. Nice balcony. I would highly recommend this place. Send us your review of Beach Colony Resort today. Check out our complete list of Myrtle Beach Hotels.
