Caravelle ResortCourtesy of TripAdvisor Reviews for Caravelle Resort of Myrtle Beach
October 19, 2011 - We had our son's wedding rehearsal dinner at the Caravelle - at the Santa Maria restaurant. The food was great and the staff provided excellent service - at a very reasonable price! We stayed at the hotel and so did most of our out of town guests. I received very favorable comments from the guests who stayed there and everyone was pleased about the amenities offered in the room and the hotel in general- again at a very reasonable price. The sales and event coordinators were very accommodating in providing exactly what we needed for our rehearsal dinner. I would highly recommend the Caravelle for special events and weekend getaways. October 7, 2011 - Stayed at St. John's Inn from Sept. 9-15, 2011. This is one of the original resorts in Myrtle Beach (part of the Caravelle Resort) and is right across the street from the beach. It has a gorgeous pool (large and very clean). The deck around the pool is beautiful as are the grounds. It was extremely quiet at this time of year which we loved. Our room was great, two queen beds, a great little kitchen and a clean bathroom. These units are privately owned and are individually decorated. Ours had it's own terrace outside the room with two tables and chairs. There is a barbeque area with picnic tables and a small laundry room (which could use some TLC and updating). You can use all the facilities (incl. waterpark right across the street) that the Caravelle offers. All in all, a nice little place to stay if you prefer a smaller (3 story) clean and quiet place to stay that's very centralized to everything and not too expensive! September 12, 2011 - This hotel was great. We had a oceanview suite with a gorgeous view of the ocean. The room was a little dated but made up for it in space. We had two double beds in the bed room and a pull down bed in the living room. The complete kitchen helped save us on meals while we were on vacation. It had a large walk in closet/changing area. The shower was the best of any hotel I have ever stayed in. The hotel staff was friendly and the beach access was wonderful. They have an indoor pool and hot tub and several outdoor pool areas and a hot tub. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. They also provided discount attraction tickets to local aquarium and shows. August 18, 2011 - Our family stayed at the Caravelle for week and enjoyed every minute. The Caravelle had so much going on daily for the kids to go out on the ocean front lawn and do it was unreal. Great pools and lazy river were very relaxing during the day. Our room was clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back to stay again! August 5, 2011 - We typically stay in North Myrtle, but booked the Caravelle this year on the recommendation of a family member. What a nice surprise! It's location on the north end of Myrtle Beach was less crowded and quieter than the main strip of hotels to the south, but closer to many attractions than our usual North Myrtle hotel. It was also very clean and nicely updated. The oceanfront view was great, and the beach very nice. Plus we paid hundreds less for the week than we would have at the old place, so that was great. The one complaint we heard from other guests (and experienced ourselves) was regarding the slow elevators located next to the attached parking garage. Someone gave us a great tip: try to park on the 5th or 6th floors of the garage so that you can take the stairs! We also found that the pool elevators (right around the corner) seemed to be much quicker. Oh, and the front desk is located across the street attached to the overflow parking garage. It was a little confusing when we first checked in since no entrance to the hotel is marked, and you have to walk through the (main) garage to enter the hotel itself. Overall though, it was a great vacation and I would definitely stay here again. July 25, 2011 - This was a trip for the kids, I took my daughter 28, and my grand kids, boy 10 and girl 8. We had a great time there. We were in the St Clements building in room 105. The view from the room was amazing. You could sit on the balcony and have a great view of the ocean. There is tons of stuff to do at the resort and nearby the resort. A few things about the hotel, the pools are always crowded. The water park is very small, it looks much bigger in the pictures. Every time we went there it was packed and very hard to keep up with what the kids were doing. The indoor pool was very dirty with lots of sand in it. The beach was nice though and clean. If you are bringing children make sure you bring food you can fix in your room. The grills and restraunts are very expensive! Parking is a nightmare!!! Don't try and park underground at the St. Clements building, it took us 20 minutes to manuver around the colums to get parked. Overall this is a great place to stay, it is close to everything you want to do. July 1, 2011 - I'm from Indiana, and when I want ocean...I go to Myrtle Beach. People ask why SC? I said, "They have the same ocean and sand as FL...but they also have southern fried chicken, sweet potatoes, greens and sweet tea!" Our last trip down there, I took my 20 year old daughter who needed a break from colloege. We stayed at the caravelle, What a wonderful stay! The rooms were clean, service great, and so many ammenities. The rooms were decorated so tastefully done, no seafoam green and pink dolphin pictures! The pools were clean, plenty of chairs, and the upper tanning/deck was great! We didn't get a chance to visit the indoor pool, but I already have reservations and will definately check that out next time! Kitchen was stocked with clean pots and pans, and everything we needed. And when we wanted to stay an extra night, it was done at a discount! Loved the caravelle. We stayed in the main tower. I have never written a review before, but had to write one to tell all how great The Caravelle is! May 31, 2011 - I would def. recommend this place. It was very clean and nice. The oceanfront views were amazing. We stayed in the king jacuzi suite and it was amazing. Very Very Clean and nice. Nice staff excellent spot not too congested. I'm a very picky person so if i loved I know everyone else would. Can't wait to go back!!! May 10, 2011 - The Caravelle is an awesome resort. Everything you need is right there; gym, bar, arcade room, pools on the premises, and a great staff. I have stayed at the Caravelle for the last 4 family vacations, and this year I was wanting to try a different resort. I did my research on a handful, made a list of everything I wanted out of my resort, and picked the one that suited all my needs. It was the Caravelle. So we stayed there again this year, and was reminded why we always go back! Thanks!! Apr 26, 2011 - The staff at the Caravelle were very accommodating, even though they were extremely busy. The front office staff was wonderfully kind. The condo we rented was very well appointed with washer/dryer, full kitchen and an awesome patio with an ocean view! Everything was clean and in working order. The beds were very comfortable and the decor was beach-oriented. The beach area was clean and we had a great time. We traveled with three kids ages-10, 3, and 2 and everyone had a comfortable sleep, a nice warm bath in a clean tub, and a fun time on the beach. Our family will visit again and give it a resounding “Two Thumbs Up"! Apr 17, 2011 - I stayed at The Caravelle for my honeymoon in August 2010. The staff was friendly and check-in was fine. The hotel needs some updates. The fire alarm went off throughout the day several times, sometimes 15 or 20 minutes at a time, and it was very loud! Only one of the three elevators worked. This really wasn't the hotel's fault; they said a lightning storm knocked them out. We couldn't find anything to drink. There were ice machines, and pop machines, but all of the pop machines were empty. The pool area was much smaller than we expected, even though we saw pictures on their website. There were lots of kids, so couples, choose somewhere different. I did not like the location, because there was nothing within walking distance. However, if you like seclusion from the busy streets then this would be a good area. It was pretty quiet. There was a parking garage across the street. Mar 24, 2011 - Rooms/balcony overlooking beach. The hotel is down from all the busy area but not to far. It is a great location. Restaurants within 2 blocks. Easy access to the tourist spots. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Mar 17, 2011 - My wife and I stayed here again last week and everything was great again! We stayed there last year for the first time and will most likely not look at any other hotels at MB as we are very happy with the Caravelle. We love the view from the oceanfront rooms! We were in an efficiency again and everything needed for "light" cooking was provided, as well the room and bathroom being clean and fresh. Feb 26, 2011 - We had a terrific experience at the Caravelle. The room was spotless, the view exceptional, the receptionists were glad to see us, and the rates were excellent. Cleanliness and feeling safe are the two most important issues for me and this hotel exceeded my expectations! The rates were terrific. We came for the marathon and the Caravelle was a terrific host to runners. We will be back! Send us your review of Caravelle Resort today. Check out our complete list of Myrtle Beach Hotels.
