Carolina WindsCourtesy of TripAdvisor Reviews for Carolina Winds
November 17, 2011 - We (wife and 2 teens) just got back from a long weekend there. At check-in they asked if we would want to upgrade to ocean front for a few more dollars - upon seeing the room 1201, heck yeah! I'm talking 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, 4 tv's, internet, beautifully decorated and roomy. Also, full kitchen, washer-dryer, and plenty of hot water, ever be the last to get a shower and find yourself in a chilly situation? It won't happen here. The views were awesome, and we didn't hear a peep from anybody else in the hotel, I hate thin walls and was very pleased with the sound insulation here. The lobby is nice, the pools are clean and the maid service was excellent! October 23, 2011 - Carolina Winds is a comfortable and great location ocean front Hotel at 76 Ave North in Myrtle Beach SC. The staff, no matter what their job, housekeeping, desk clerks and maintenance folks were extremely friendly and obviously there to please the customer. Anywhere you went on the hotel property was nicely groomed, clean and inviting, especially the large outside heated pool. September 19, 2011 - We loved our stay at Carolina Winds. We stayed in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, living room, kitchen, and laundry room. It was beautiful. The room was nice and clean and very comfy. The view of the ocean was beautiful. We can't wait until our visit next year. August 31, 2011 - This is the best place to stay in Myrtle Beach. Location is convenient to everything from Broadway at the Beach to Barefoot Landing. There are many nearby Restaurants and miniature golf courses along with 18 whole golf courses close by. We have been staying at Carolina winds for the past 10 years and have stayed in their 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units. Have nothing but great things to say about all of the units that we have stayed in. The view of the ocean is great and it is only a short walk to the beach. I would recommend Carolina Winds to anyone that is visiting Myrtle Beach for the first time or the tenth time!! We will be back next year...already booked. August 24, 2011 - We have been coming to Myrtle Beach twice a year since the early 80s. In 1997 we found the Carolina Winds and will never go anywhere else! We know most of the staff like they are family (I would say at least 2 people from each department have been there for well over 10 years...some maybe 25!) We are from Georgia and most of our friends & family would expect us to go to GA or FL beaches...but we are hooked on Myrtle Beach. It helps knowing we have a place where we can truly call home while we are there. We have stayed in every room type since we have been coming (except the 4 bedroom penthouse which I hear is lovely) and have never been disappointed. I hear some people may not like the views on lower floors but that's never been a problem for us. We always ask for 7th floor or above. The staff has always been more than willing to let us view other rooms as research for upcoming stays...when rooms are available that is..Once they were full so we didn't bother them. We know they can't guarantee rooms but I'd say we've gotten what we've asked for 99% of them time. Can't wait til our trip in Dec! August 4, 2011 - This was our first trip to Myrtle Beach. The Carolina Winds was recommended by our daughter. Our experience was excellent. The room was bright and clean and had a great view of the ocean and the beach. The staff was always pleasant and helpful. The location was close very good. We would stay there again. July 10, 2011 - My family has been staying at the Carolina Winds resort for at least 10-15 years, if not longer. In the past we have stayed in the main tower in a one bedroom suite with an ocean view. This year, our family expanded so we stayed in the two bedroom suite in the second tower, again with an ocean view. In fact, it was so close to the beach and had such a gorgeous view of the ocean, it was practically ocean front. In addition, we had an enormous balcony that spanned two rooms - very spacious and accommodating! The room included two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a living space with a pull out bed, a dining area, a full kitchen, and a washer/dryer. The beds were comfortable and we received excellent housekeeping service! Fresh towels were available at our room by the time we returned from the beach each day. The beds were made and the room was cleaned, mopped, and vacuumed each day as well. The only thing that left something to be desired was the restaurant. It is typically open for breakfast and lunch. The restaurant seems to have changed ownership just about every year or two since we have been staying here and you’re never sure what to expect. However, the food is always delicious and the staff is pretty friendly. This year, the service was rather slow due to the fact that it appeared one man was doing everything – the waiting, the cooking, the register, etc. However he was friendly. I’m not sure if this was a one-time incident or not because we did not return during our stay. Despite the slower service and limited menu, the food was delicious, and we’d give it another try next time. The location of Carolina Winds is perfect – not too far South and not too far North. Within minutes to the main attractions including Broadway at the Beach, Barefoot Landing, and shops and restaurants galore! Finally, you can’t beat the value of this resort! Very reasonable rates per night, especially if you split it among two or more families and if you can book early enough to get the Spring specials. We will DEFINITELY be back! June 12, 2011 - This was our first trip to Myrtle Beach. I picked this hotel, because of the price ,size and location. The room was a 1 br angle view on the six floor. The suite was just perfect for us. There was plenty of room for a family of four with teens. We checked in early, with out any wait. and when we opened the door the first thing we could see is the ocean. The living room was really cute with a nautical theme. We loved our view of the pool and the ocean. It was nice that we could see our teens when they walked down to the ocean and or pool. The housekeeper for our room was great and the front desk staff were polite. I really miss it there and cannot wait to go back. May 12, 2011 - I spent what seemed like hours web surfing to find a room last minute for the last weekend of Spring Break. And then, I stumbled onto Carolina Winds...I did not book at first because my Husband did not know if we could get away for just the only one last night....so I had to book the next am...and luckily I got a room..The price was great to begin with..I dreaded seeing the room when I got there though since they still had a room..Boy was I surprised the receptionist was great then the room was awesome. The biggest room we had ever gotten at Myrtle in a very long time at short notice or at all....seems like...It was the cleanest I had had in several of the last visits to the beach. and the amenities were awesome. Lazy rivers, indoor pool, jacuzzis and game room the kids had the time of their life's and I have already promised that we will only stay there from now on because they were not cramped for the first time ever...and with 5 of us we can get cramped...I don't ever plan on even looking at making reservations anywhere else ever again...I know my kids will hate me if I do and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Carolina Winds and I would recommend it to anyone...It was the best place. And we average going to the beach to stay at least once every couple of months. Since we are locals i.e. live in State. Apr 28, 2011 - I'm 51 years old and have been coming to MB since I was a kid. I have stayed at hotels/condos from the north to the south end by the airport and I have to say that Carolina Winds is by far the best place yet! The check-in was easy and the folks were so nice. You could tell that they took pride in their hotel and cared about their quests. I was taking a mini vacation with my wife and 2 teenage daughters. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite in the building across the street from the main hotel, room 661. The room was huge, clean! and had top notch everything. I'm talking 3 flat screen tv's, washer-dryer, everything in the kitchen but the cook and 2 full baths with showers that actually put out a decent stream of water. I was really impressed and so was my wife, she doesn't impress easy by the way. The house keeper was great, the towels felt like they were new and she always asked if we needed anything. The grounds had beautiful flowers and the areas around the hotel and parking lot were always clean. I saw the maintenance guys cleaning the pool and deck early every morning. Speaking of the pool, you won't find one bigger, cleaner and perfect temp anywhere else. Checking out, they took time to talk to us, wish us a safe trip and shake hands. Oh yeah, I can't wait to come back here. Apr 21, 2011 - We stayed at Carolina Winds in March with our friends and their three children. The 3 Bedroom condo we reserved was more that we expected. The condo was spacious and very cozy, also newly renovated. We enjoyed our stay and hopefully it won't be our last. The location of the hotel is very suitable for local shopping and restaurants and the facilities are very nice. You Will Love the Carolina Winds!! Apr 9, 2011 - The room was great and view was great... The pools were wonderful!! It was in a quite location and felt homey and comfortable. I loved staying there and would love to visit again. Felt very safe and had a great time. It was wonderful and it was also a very relaxing place. Jan 31, 2011 - This was our second stay at the Carolina winds. It was just as pleasant as our first stay 2 years ago. We stayed in a angle suite and it was beautiful, very modern. The staff are friendly and we really enjoyed the pools and hot tubs. We didn't rent a car because the hotel is within 10 minutes of walking distance to good restaurants and a grocery store. The beach is wonderful and the weather was perfect. My daughters really liked the activities offered by the hotel such as scavenger hunts, beach games and crafts . We hope to go back this summer! Jan 3, 2011 - Carolina Winds is one if not our favorite hotels to stay at in Myrtle Beach SC. The price of the rooms, its location, cleanliness, and the service of the staff is outstanding. We also enjoy staying at Carolina Winds because it is so close to Carolina Opry, Bass Pro Shops, the Outlets and our favorite restaurants. We highly recommend staying at Carolina Winds and as soon as our work schedule allows we will make reservations again to visit. Send us your review of Carolina Winds today.
