• Love Myrtle Beach, Love the Dayton House

October 31, 2011 - We have been vacationing in Myrtle Beach for many years, and the Dayton House is our favorite place to stay. Our most recent trip was for 10 days at the start of October 2011. Rooms are very well kept. The whole resort is kept very clean. The best part is the many beach chairs and umbrellas available on the grounds. We also love the lazy river. Near to many great restaurants. Highly recommend.


• Very pleased

October 23, 2011 - This was our 1st trip to Myrtle Beach and needed a hotel fairly close to the convention center--this one was recommended, and we are very happy we stayed here. This is start of off season so rates were very reasonable. Rooms/property very clean and well kept. Staff very helpful and friendly. Hotel is on beach, ~ 6 blocks from convention center and 1 mile from downtown tourist area; we found location very good.


• Great family place

September 23, 2011 - We have stayed here for 2 years in a row and plan on staying here next year. I have been to Myrtle Beach since I was a child and have stayed in all of places. This by far is the best place for the money. My daughter is 3 and loves the pool. We eat at uncle johns across the street each morning. Its an older hotel but clean. We really enjoyed our stay.


• Best Place to Stay Period!!

September 1, 2011 - The reason why there are so many 5 stars..is because thats what you get at Dayton House!! Friendly Staff, Great Value, Clean Rooms and Clean Pools. Best place to stay..Family Oriented and never feel over crowded. You always can find a Yella Umbrella to sit under no matter what time of day. GM Paul Garcia is the best..answered all my questions and concerns before I arrived..made me feel I was a part of the Dayton House Family. Pools are cleaned every morning...trash is picked up through out the day, this place is VERY CLEAN. I see people on here complain because you have to wear an arm band around the property...so what its to keep those out that don't belong!! People if you don't stay here, you will miss out!! Trust me!!


• Always a perfect stay!

August 16, 2011 - My husband and I (age 31 and 37) have stayed here at least 5 times in the last 5 years, and it's always great! We've stayed with other family members too, and the stay is always perfect. Rooms are very clean, comfortable, and well maintained by staff. We've never had a noise problem from other guests and management is ever present to insure that guests feel safe and secure. Our favorite feature is the huge grassy area right on the beach next to the pools - the lounge chairs, tables & umbrellas are awesome! And the saltwater pools are fabulous! I have recommended this hotel again & again to friends and family, and have always heard the same great response after they stay at the Dayton House - cannot be beat for amenities and location, the perfect place to relax & get away!

July 29, 2011 - Stayed in the suite building at Dayton House. Kitchen was small, but enough for fixing light breakfasts and lunches. (Full sized appliances provided). Master bedroom had full bed, flat screen TV and a great ocean view. We booked late, so oceanfront was not available. No problem! Still had a great view. Living room had a murphy bed, sofa, chair, kitchen table and another great view of the ocean. I have three in my family, so this was perfect. The hotel offers a lazy river, three pools, and great tables with umbrellas. The grounds are so large that you can go to the beach without sitting elbow to elbow with your neighbor. I am a past customer and will continue to stay at Dayton House. Rooms were cleaned daily and we were given extra shampoos and necessities! Laundry available on the grounds. Elevators were a problem...slow. Would recommend staying on the 4th or 5th floor. I would give 5 stars otherwise.


• Best vacation we have had in years!

July 6, 2011 - My family has been visiting the Dayton House Resort for the past 8 years. We have enjoyed it EVERY time we visit. This year I must say was our best vacation we have had in several years. The updates to the resort are wonderful and as always the resort was very clean and the staff at the Dayton House was very friendly and helpful as always. I HIGHLY recommend the Dayton House Resort for your next family or couple vacation getaway.


• Best place we have stayed and will be back!

June 24, 2011 - We stayed in the Suite Bldg. It was very clean and the staff was friendly and very professional about maintaining the property. We had been going to Clearwater Beach, FL but we will be coming here from now on. The beach is cleaner and light up and night and safe for families to walk at night. Everything is a short drive. The Dayton House is located just north of the center of Myrtle Beach , away from the busy night life. The pools and grassy umbrella/ lounge chair section is awesome because you can enjoy still enjoy the beach because it is between the hotel and the beach! The Dayton House has ample parking areas so if you come in late, it isn't a big hassle. Broadway at the Beach is a very short drive away and the new ferris wheel is a nice 20 minute walk and well worth doing. I was impressed with the layout of the property because there is ample space for all guests and not feel too crowded! We felt very relaxed our entire stay.


• Nice room and great value, I will be back

May 15, 2011 - I stayed in an Oceanfront efficiency, and the room was just as advertised. Clean, comfortable, great view from balcony, flat screen TV with very good cable reception. It wasn't the fanciest of rooms, but I wasn't expecting that, and it was very functional. Only negative I can think of was the bathroom was a little "tight". Large refrigerator, stove (which we didn't use), small microwave and small but effective coffee maker with supplies (in addition to free coffee in the lobby). Three pools and three hot tubs to choose from, 2 saunas, very nice lawn area with ample umbrella tables and chairs. Never had any trouble finding a chair around the pool or lawn areas. Easy in and out car access, although you will probably be using their parking across the street or 1 block to their additional parking garage. This is also where the fitness center is, a short walk but fairly decent equipment available. Two walk up computers with internet access in the lobby, and WiFi in the rooms.


• Best Deal In Myrtle Beach for the Money

Apr 24, 2011 - Overall we were very happy with our stay here. the place was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. The pools were excellent and we enjoyed the lazy river. The only problems were that my wife got locked in the bathroom and I had to get her out and later I got locked in there and she had to get me out, which was a minor inconvenience. The problem was that when we told the maid, she said, when you check out they will have someone fix that. I thought that was something they should have jumped right on. The game room was outdated and offered little pleasure but we didn't stay for that anyway. Free breakfast was nice, but you did have to walk about a block to get it. But again, we got a great deal on the room through Book-it.com, so we were quite happy with it.


• Nice Location

Apr 11, 2011 - The views here are really great. We walked to nearby stores and grocery stores. The grounds are nice and the kids really enjoyed the pools. The rooms are dated and there were very noticeable stains on the walls and carpet. Despite those small details, I enjoyed my stay here and would possibly stay again.


• Highly Recommend – Clean, Great Staff, and Beautiful Grounds

Mar 15, 2011 - I traveled with a NJ Dance Team and we had 25 rooms a night for 3 nights. We enjoyed our stay at the Dayton House Resort and will be going back again next year. The rooms are clean and well stocked, the grounds are beautiful, the pools are great and the staff was wonderful. The only negative was that we didn't have enough time to truly enjoy the resort due to the girls competing! Great job Dayton House and kudos to your excellent staff!


• Its OK Short Term

Feb 21, 2011 - PRO-this is a nice hotel, though not as it used to be when the old owner had had. The hot tub is ok looks messy but not, due to just old lining. views from our room is great. The room we had has a kitchenette which is great since we stay there for few weeks. Over good place only...they have an issue with there internet, if you are there for few weeks it is annoying for couple days no big deal but try to use Skype(not Skype issue) you have major problems. and at other time also slow connection.
CON-Poor internet connection.


• Great stay

Nov 30, 2010 - Wonderful stay at Dayton House, staff very friendly and helpful. Resort extremely clean in all areas including both room and all outdoor areas. S9me people must be extremely fussy, but I do not understand negative reviews. We found nothing that was not to our liking including the included breakfast at Uncle Johns. We booked through Book It and all went very well. Angle ocean view (south bldg) 2 queens with small (but well stocked ) kitchen.
