Dunes Village ResortCourtesy of TripAdvisor Reviews for Dunes Village Resort of Myrtle Beach
October 14, 2011 - I stayed at Dunes Village September 29th - October 2nd, and it was great! We stay at Dunes Village every year, and this time was the best! Our room was nice, and the bathroom was spotless. The bed was the most comfortable that we've experienced since coming here for the past few years. Everyone was nice, and the maid was very friendly and accommodating to our requests. The beach was not crowded, and we were able to secure an umbrella and chairs in a good spot. Check in was quick, and so was check out. The valet service is very much improved, and we never had to wait long for our car even though there was a lot of guests coming and going. The valet person was very nice as well. We just had a wonderful time! September 28, 2011 - My wife and I decided to surprise our four children (ages 3 to 8) with a stay at the "water park hotel" and I have to say that our stay at the Village Dunes Resort was outstanding. The indoor water parks were an awesome way to avoid the daily thunderstorms. The location on the beach was far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the "Grand Strand" but close enough to the "action" to enjoy it when we wanted to. My wife and I accidentally left clothing and a family heirloom (pin attached to a dress) behind. The next day I received a call notifying me that they had our belongings and would be more than happy ship them to us. While I had to cover the shipping costs, I was totally fine with it as we were the ones responsible for leaving the items behind. The items arrived and the family heirloom was still attached to her dress. This speaks volumes of the integrity of the staff as these items could easily have "disappeared". The staff was always courteous and friendly. Our room was in excellent shape and serviced daily. September 1, 2011 - Awesome place to stay. Rooms are of nice size and very clean. The upkeep on this resort is great. Even when we sleep in until noon, housekeeping came back and cleaned room without us having to ask anyone. There are Lots of activities for kids. There's also a great selection of pools, water slides and games. This is by far the nicest resort I have stayed in the Myrtle Beach area. August 11, 2011 - We have nothing but praise for this resort. The four bedroom condos were plenty enough room for our big family. We thoroughly enjoyed the resort, especially the indoor waterpark, the complimentary dining coupons (for our parents), and the hospitality. Michael and Holly (guest services) and their boss help me when the printers where down and I saved $100 at a local restaurant because of the coupon they printed out for me. Would we go back? ABSOLUTELY. The kids didn't have to go to an outside park ... they played from sun up to sun down. And that was the best part ... they were safe and they had fun. We had an oceanfront view and it was amazing. Even though it rained ... it wasn't so HOT! Even better that the resort had not one BUT TWO indoor waterparks. July 24, 2011 - Expedient check-in/check-out. Plenty of parking for unloading. Excellent parking deck directly across the street. Everything is clean everywhere everyday! All of the staff are friendly & welcoming. Housekeeping staff is efficient & considerate. Accommodations are up to date & clean. We had a deluxe queen suite with jacuzzi & extended balcony. Loved the balcony for meals with an oceanfront view. Service was outstanding at the poolside cabana, but we didn't have a chance to try the 2 restaurants although other guests did rave about how excellent they both were. My 2 teenagers loved this place & the wi-fi was great compared to most other places. We all would have happily stayed another week. Definitely worth the price! Close enough to the boardwalk area without being in all that constant traffic to get back to your room in the evening! Will definitely save up & stay here again!! You won't find anywhere else in Myrtle Beach to beat this place for all it offers!! July 11, 2011 - We enjoyed our stay at the Dunes Village Resort. The room was very clean and we had a great view of the ocean. Having a full kitchen was very convenient and we saved money by stocking up on food and snacks at the local Food Lion. The coffee shop (Seattle's Best) on site was very convenient. They even serve espresso and cappuccinos in addition to regular coffee. The water park was enjoyed by all, although some of the fixtures (ie. submarine and water cannon elephants) are starting to show their age (some rust and missing paint). The staff was always available and very helpful. The only negative comments would be that we found some mildew around the tub in the bathoom. Also, the parking area directly infront of the tower gets really crowded around check-in/check-out time. The staff does their best to control the chaos, but with all those minivans, SUV's and pickem up trucks, it's a challenge. We will definitely be coming back to the Dunes Village Resort. It's a great value for families with young children. June 17, 2011 - Just got home from our 5 night stay at Dunes Village Resort. Can't say enough good things about it. Check-in was easy and staff was super friendly. We never walked by a staff member without them giving us a friendly hello. We stayed in a first floor ocean front king studio. Room was very clean and met our expectations. Kitchenette was perfect for making our lunches and saving some money. Our 3 year old son loved the water parks and hubby loved the water slides too. We received a list of activities for the kids at check-in and took advantage of all the craft activities...sand art, decorate beach buckets, face painting, the list went on and on. Our 3 year old was thrilled with the duck races at the pool too. He also enjoyed mini-golf right there at the resort...for free! There was really no need to ever leave the resort. Yummy drinks at the pool side bar and live music, which was fantastic. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet on our last day there and had a great server. Love making your own belgian waffles! Yum! Buffet was not crowded as I expected. When we did leave the resort, we went to the grand strand, Broadway at the Beach (very close) and Barefoot Landing where our son loved Alligator Adventure. Location was perfect for all we wanted to do. Check-out was quick and easy. We didn't want to leave but will definitely be back. May 23, 2011 - This trip was a family vacation with two adult sons, daughter-in-law, mom and dad and 4 year old grandaughter and everyone had a great time. I particularly enjoyed the time of year as it wasn't as busy as the high season. I suspect there would be lots more kids enjoying the amenities. Also, liked being a little bit away from the hustle of the center of town. Service was very good especially when I needed help with some business matters. We reserved the deluxe 4 bedroom suite which was very much worth the money. Had a wonderful large balcony patio for coffee in the morning and drinks in the evening. May 10, 2011 - This is our second year in a row and my parent's third year at this hotel--That should say a lot right there. The property's main features are a fantastic beach, outdoor pools and other activities and the indoor waterpark. What I love most is that we never have to worry about having a bad weather week because we always have the plan B with all of the indoor facilities(pools, ping pong, fusball, billiards etc). We have a 2.5 year old he has a blast in the different kids pools, pirate ship etc, and this year he was even able to do the smaller waterslides. The beach is top-notch and trust me when I say that I have high standards in this area--it is very private, the sand is very white and fine and the beach at low tide is absolutely huge. There is also a town lifeguard right out front. As for the guestrooms--pay the extra money for a oceanfront suite and you will love it--it has a full kitchen with granite counters, a huge bedroom and even a jacuzzi tub--we also used the murphy bed in the living room this year. The location of this hotel is also really good with lots of restaurants, shows, golf etc just a couple miles away. Love this place. May 3, 2011 - I just turned 21 and this was my birthday treat to myself.... Room, awesome, clean, and beautifully decorated (filled with flat screens and a wide open living room mirror) Location of the resort was awesome, so close to boardwalk and every consignment shop! Service was awesome and quick! No complaints whatsoever, and I find that hard to believe coming from a 21 yr old at a "family" resort but believe it or not the children didn't get in the way AT ALL! Can't wait to take my babies there this summer! May 1, 2011 - We just came back after spending 4 nights there. What an amazing time we had. The kids loved the water parks and outdoor pools! The amenities where great. We were able to spend real quality family time together playing ping pong, shuffleboard, chess on the giant chess board, and mini golf just to name a few. The playground on the beach was perfect for little ones, while the volleyball court was perfect for the older ones. We stayed in a 1 bedroom oceanfront room that had a awesome view of the beach and ocean. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. The cleaning girl came by daily and was very accommodating. Overall, we had a wonderful time. We can't say a bad word about this place as we truly had a top notch experience. I would highly recommend this place to families as we plan on being repeat guests. May 1, 2011 - I must say this is one of the Best places I ever stayed at ......with so much to do .I got to say that if you are looking for a fun place to go on vacation you "must' go to the Dunes Village Resort .....The minute you arrive to the Dunes you will be greeted Madie the personal greeter who has a spirit of joy that fills your heart ...with a easy check-in and southern hospitality you will feel at ease when you arrive ....with two outstanding restaurant your tummy will be satisfied ....and two awesome indoor water parks the fun is beyond belief....When it comes to night life you can take a sort ride to Broadway on the beach and shop... eat ....or lay back and have a drink in their many different Bar restaurants in the site of Broadway on the Beach ....after your night out you can be comfort in knowing that the room that you are saying is very clean and very peaceful for sleeping ....the view is outstanding to from the terrace.....minutes away from mini golf...adventure parks and more. Apr 29, 2011 - The resort overall is very nice. The indoor water parks and pools are great for kids. The outdoor pools are nice too, one is heated as well. Our room was nice although it could use some updating.. The carpet was a little worn and the bathroom was in need of a overhaul. The only problems I had was the room was only cleaned every other day and they didn’t seem to want to give me soap. Also there is no easy way to get to the pools or beach you have to walk around the building to get out. Apr 28, 2011 - We enjoyed our stay at Dunes Village Resort. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Myrtle Beach. A great value and perfect location. We can't wait to go back!!!! Our oceanfront room was incredible! A great value for a vacation on a budget. Our kids LOVED the waterpark. Parking is a bit of a nuisance but I understand that oceanfront property shouldn't be wasted on a parking garage! Pool area and all grounds were incredibly well maintained and clean. Servers at breakfast buffet and bartender (Senta) were very accommodating. We actually wanted to extend our stay but hotel was booked. Send us your review of Dunes Village today. Check out our complete list of Myrtle Beach Hotels.
