Forest Dunes ResortCourtesy of TripAdvisor Reviews for Forest Dunes Resort of Myrtle Beach
October 15, 2011 - Just stayed at the Forest Dunes for a baseball tournament!! We had room 607 and loved it!! It was not too high up for those in our party that were afraid of heights but had an incredible view of the ocean, beach, sunrise and sunset!! We could also view the pool, lazy river and hot tub from our room. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. The beds were great close to the small bathroom and then another full bathroom down the hall. A great well stocked kitchen with breakfast bar, living room with recliner rocker, pull out sofa and arm chair well placed to view out the floor to ceiling patio door windows at the beach! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The restaurant onsite is called Buckets and had friendly staff, delicious food and well priced. I had the philly cheese sandwich with fries and loved it!! Would definitely bring my family back here! We also loved the quiet beach that we had and the close approximity to drive to downtown, the boardwalk, restaurants, shopping and attractions! October 1, 2011 - Room 1701. Great value, big sq'footage, loads of room, fantastic view and great balcony. Outside there was a lazy river & outdoor pool that seemed to be heated but indoor pool a bit cool (could be heated!!). Whirlpool nice & 103 degrees and pools cleaned every morning. Across a small street from the beach easy access to beach, no troubles getting there and there are showers/hoses to clean everything off before you come back to resort. The lobby was clean & nice but our unit was well used.........it needs a facelift very badly!! I woudn't wear barefeet or socks on carpets, only slippers constantly....the carpet was very stained. The cabinets in bathrooms/kitchen falling apart!!! Closet doors falling apart, dryer does not dry! All walls needed painted, baseboards were falling apart too. All of it needed to be replaced & renovated. Although the appliances were newer & clean, the housekeepers were friendly and helpful. the place seemed clean though, just very very used! Dissappointed there was no recycling at the resort!!!!!!! So we had 3 bedroms and 3 baths, the master had a walk-in closet that we used as a nursery (fantastic!!) and then a queen bedroom and two twins in a bedroom. Couldn't ask for more space. September 15, 2011 - My wife and I visited this hotel just as quick 3-4 getaway. We were both plesed with this hotel. We had the King Oceanview Suite. The room it self was huge and clean. The feature of having a 1 and 1/2 bath was great because it allowed us to get dressed at the same time. Everything was provided in the full kitchen. The only thing I would take off points for is the lack of an interior hallway. Other than that it's a nice place and we will be back!! September 4, 2011 - I've been coming to the Forest Dunes for more than 20 years now. We really enjoyed our time with this week long visit. The staff was awesome and our room was great. The only complaint I have is that it was too hot to use the new fireplace that had been a part of the new decor of that room "1802" ask for that room it was fantastic! What a view my mother in law stayed at the window when she wasn't out on the beach. August 10, 2011 - I have stayed here for the past 4 visits to Myrtle Beach. I find every room I have stayed in has been great. The 3 bedroom is really spacious with a master bedroom w/king bed, 2nd bedrm with queen bed, 3rd bedrm w/twin beds. Great kitchen area and spacious living room area with balcony. The pool area is great in location with the fitness room, hot tub and lazy river. The balcony from the room will overlook the ocean if oceanfront room, and oceanview will will have a view of the ocean at an angle. The 1 bedrm unit also has 1 1/2 bath which is great. The only dislike was in the 1 bedrm oceanview, the bedroom is at the front entry door and the window looks onto the front walkway entry balcony, so you have to keep the curtains drawn for privacy. The oceanfront room design is differant. The bedrrom overlooks the ocean. This has and will always be my 1st choice in my visits to Myrtle Beach. The location is away from the hub of action and a more quite area with the beach a short walk across the street. You will need a car to get around if you plan to venture out. It is in a great location for a more relaxed laid back stay. You are close to Kings Hwy which will take you to Restaurant Row and shopping at the Mall and Outlet Mall. I will be going there this October and already have my reservation. Forest Dunes Here I Come!! August 5, 2011 - We enjoyed our stay this week. Our grandson was scared on the 5th floor and the staff was very helpful and found us a room on the second. It was a very enjoyable stay. The room was clean and our grandchildren enjoyed the pool and lazy river. They also had a great time with the staff activities leader. We will definitely be back. June 26, 2011 - The price is right for ocean front. Both times we had the corner room with the glass on both sides. By far the best rooms to get. This was are second time staying here and really enjoyed both times. Very close to everything even has a park for the kids within a few steps away and the beach isn't over crowded either. When we go to Myrtle Beach this will always be the place where we stay... May 23, 2011 - Friends suggested we stay here and we really enjoyed it. I was unsure when we first arrived, but everyone was nice and the interior was much nicer than I expected. There was a very laid back feeling to the whole place. I felt much more at-home than I have at any other hotel. Having 1 1/2 baths is unheard of for hotel rooms, and it was a HUGE convenience to have this when traveling with young children. The ocean view room had a great view, not at all obstructed. There is a small park walking distance. We could see it clearly from our balcony. We didn't visit it, as we were only on a short trip, but it is certainly a great idea for future trips. Hoping to return soon! May 9, 2011 - The staff at Forest Dunes are wonderful they helped with anything we needed and more! The hotel is clean and beautiful, the beach is right across the street and is also very clean. The manager was very nice he made sure our honeymoon weekend turned around and made up for the hotel that almost ruined it. They let us look at the rooms before we checked in which was amazing!!! Apr 25, 2011 - This was my first stay(me, my wife, and teenage son) in this resort. We absolutely loved it. The ocean front room we stayed was clean, nice balcony, great service. The food at the bar was great!!! I can honestly say they don't charge enough money to stay here. Thank you!! Mar 11, 2011 - Forest Dunes has a great location offering a good view of the ocean. Check in was smooth and the front desk was very accommodating to us. We get to the 1 bedroom condo and i was nothing short of impressed. It was more than I expected as it was very clean, spacious and comfortable. One of my favorite parts was the wide balcony that extended from the bedroom to the living room. The pool was nice as well as the indoor pool. They also had a restaurant on-site, but I did not eat there. (nothing personal) Overall, I was very pleased!!! Feb 23, 2011 - We had stayed at Forest Dunes about 20 years ago and I don't think the rooms have been updated since. Wallpaper was coming off the bedroom walls, blankets had holes in them. We ended up going to Costco to purchase new blankets to sleep with. The Kitchen and bathrooms were very outdated and not very clean. The exterior is very nice, the pool area and lobby etc was nice as well as the location is great because it's so close to the beach. We did end up having a nice time because we were outside most of the time, but I wouldn't stay there again. Jan 9, 2011 - We have stayed with Forest Dunes several times and each time the stay was absolutely perfect. The rooms are beautiful, large and very clean! The kitchen has everything I have in my home which is great because it can get expensive for families eating out every meal while on vacation. The pools are always clean. The restaurant has great food and great people working there! The staff at Forest Dunes are so helpful and polite. I have and will continue to recommend this hotel to friends and family!
