Litchfield Beach and Golf ResortCourtesy of TripAdvisor Reviews for Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort
October 2, 2011 - I have stayed here three times and each time I wish I had more time... I am a travel professional and this is one of the beaches secrets.... It is right near Myrtle Beach but tucked away in Litchfield, a secret to have a steal away. I have been there by myself, and with my family and third with my grandchildren, loved every moment from the time I checked in to the time I left going to the starbucks coffee shop! I am really pleased with all the staff from the front desk to the coffee shop down to the Housekeeping supervisors that I met along the way. Even the pool attendess are friendly with a smile... My family loves it there and there is alot to do yet you dont feel the pressure of being crowded like in Myrtle Beach. The food in Pawleys is excellent with all the bistros you could want! I can't wait to come back here as time permits. Worth your while for the money each and every time. September 25, 2011 - We have friends that live in Pawleys Island and we wanted a place to relax and enjoy the warm weather. This resort met all of our requirements. This was the first time we had stayed at this resort and it was great. Our room was very clean and it had everything we needed. There were dishes and also a washer and dryer for you use. We enjoyed the end of the evening by sitting on the balcony enjoying a glass of wine and over looking the ocean. Just request a ocean view room. September 13, 2011 - We needed a last minute place to stay at Litchfield Beach over Labor Day in order to be close to other family members. We found a room at the Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort at a reasonable price. So we took it. We were in the Seaside building. This is totally misnamed. You are nowhere near the beach nor can you see the ocean. But that aside, the room was okay but a bit small. It appeared to be an additional bedroom/bathroom for a larger suite-type room. Our view was of the parking lot. We had two queen beds which were fine, if a bit hard. There would have been more space with a king but that is not an option here apparently. There was no desk and only one chair. The room was clean but well worn. The linens were plentiful but second tier. The staff was very helpful during our stay. The resort has a restaurant, Websters, which is open for breakfast and dinner. The prices at the restaurant and bar were very reasonable for a resort property. We had constant problems with WiFi connection in our room, the lobby and even the onsite Starbucks! This seemed to be a common problem with other folks as well. This place is definitely for families, especially those with small children. The pool is great for the smaller kids, but not for adults or even older kids. There are bike rentals and miles of bike paths at Litchfield Beach. The Seaside building is a long hike to the beach although the resort does provide golf cart shuttle service. We would stay here again but would want to stay in a different part of the resort. September 12, 2011 - I love Litchfield beach and golf resort because it is mostly families. Having 2 boys under 10 years old, it is nice to see so many other children and their families at the resort. We take a family vacation here every summer. The beach is beautiful and peaceful. There are 2 pools with lazy rivers, which the kids just love. We will continue to go here for a long time. August 24, 2011 - Great location much less traffic than Myrtle Beach. Close to Murrells Inlet (seafood capital) Brookgreen Gardens and not too far for mega shopping. Love the security of gated resort. Our daughter who is 11 loves the lazy river at bridgewater and our balcony overlooks beach. Bath and half worth extra $ so hubby can have one sink/toilet area and me the other. Great discount for 7 night stays. Kitchen is galley style but adequate and murphy bed great for kids. Bridgewater is only one of several options so ask before you choose. Grounds are superb and well maintained. Websters restaurant on premises is nice if you don't feel like going out. August 4, 2011 - I have attended conferences at Litchfield on five occasions. The resort isn't huge, so the staff attends to the details more thoroughly than many places I have gone. Rates are very reasonable. Webster's Restaurant has great food, though it's a bit pricey (only by comparison to the hotel rooms). But US Highway 17 offers a number of wonderful dining options when we want to leave the compound. The resort hotel is easy to find, just off the highway, and it manages several properties beyond a gate headed toward the beach about a 1 minute slow drive. The resort hotel rooms have been recently renovated and are spacious and well appointed. The beach-front Bridgewater building has rooms with a kitchenette, a bedroom and separate living area, so 4 adults could not-so-comfortably stay there at once. The rooms at the resort hotel are less expensive and in the summer golf carts ferry people to the beach. The beach, by the way, is gorgeous. My wife and I like the atmosphere so much that we vacation there as well. We don't golf, but in the winter months the place is packed with golfers so it must be good. July 20, 2011 - Stayed in the Summer House for a weekend conference. Room was excellent and updated, one bedroom suite. Nice patio with a lake view. Flat screen televisions and nice kitchen area met all our needs. Short ten minute walk to beach or you may use the hotel shuttles. Nice Starbucks on site, we did not use the bar or restaurant. This resort is suited for families who want a nice, relaxing beach vacation. Twenty minute drive up to Myrtle Beach if you need restaurants or activities. June 15, 2011 - I was going to attend a conference in Pawley's Island. They recommended the Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort. After checking out the property online, I decided to take my wife along for some rest and relaxation at the beach. It was a great idea! Litchfield has built one of the finest resort properties on the East Coast. We stayed at the "Summer House" which is a large facility of efficiencies set beside a fantastic pool 1/4 mile from the beach. The price was quite reasonable for what we got. It was a spacious unit with separate kitchen (full sized fridge, dish washer and stove), living room and bedroom. The bathroom had a large shower. The unit included a large balcony overlooking the pool, with a glimpse of the ocean as well. A golf cart provides a regular shuttle to and from the brand new beach pavilion with lot's of decking, bathroom and reception facility. The resort includes everything from standard hotel room, to efficiencies, cottages, and large homes for rent. Each cluster of units had its own swimming pool. Other amenities included a fine restaurant, a grill, an indoor pool, sauna and spa, as well as a full service Starbucks. We definitely plan to return for a week's vacation. May 16, 2011 - We stayed at the Seaside Inn which is a short walk or drive to the beach. Our 1 bedroom suite was very spacious and very nice for the price. Some of the pluses were that it included a washer/dryer, a nice kitchen, a great screened in porch and a large tub. There was plenty of room for a small crib in the bedroom. Our unit did have a hairdryer. The only thing we missed was having a DVD player. It was perfect for my husband, I and our two small children. The Seaside Inn is across the parking lot from the pools whereas the Summerhouse overlooks the pools. From what I understand, the Summerhouse units are not quiet as spacious and do not include a washer/dryer, so you have to weigh the pros/cons. The resort itself is very nice with lots of places to walk and bike. Athough we didn't use it, the weight room and fitness facilities were also very nice. I wasn't sure if the outdoor pools would be open yet so it was a bonus that they were. This time of year, the beaches and pools were not crowded at all. In my opinion, if you don't mind not being right on the beach, the Seaside Inn is probably one of the best values at the resort, especially for a family. Make sure to visit Brookgreen Gardens. We had such a great vacation and are already planning a trip next year. I would highly recommend this resort. Apr 17, 2011 - My husband and I arrived in early April. This is a very large resort, with all sorts of types of accommodations. You can tell they do a lot of business - there were 3 or 4 lanes for incoming guests to park and register - all very well organized. The staff were friendly, courteous and efficient. The registration was done in no time. We were booked into the Bridgewater, and had a suite with a gorgeous view of the swimming pool, lazy river, hot tub, beach and ocean. Everywhere you looked everything was spotless and well maintained. The location was also good - close to Murrells Inlet with lots of great restaurants..and also not far from Myrtle Beach itself. Unfortunately, due to a nasty cold that spread from me to my husband, we never got the chance to actually try out the abovementioned amenities. (But we spent a lot of time on our balcony wishing) As my husband’s problems worsened we decided to return home to his doctor. When my husband advised the management that we'd be leaving several days early, they immediately offered a refund for those days we were missing. Not many places in this day and age would be so understanding. As my caption indicates - can't wait to return. Apr 1, 2011 - The Staff was very friendly and attentive, although the Golf Concierge could have been more upbeat and helpful. The location was perfect for us. We stayed in the Bridgewater Property. The first we were informed of all the road construction was when we were told to get back on 17 to the alternate entrance! No problem, just would have been nice to have been foretold. The accommodations while clean and what I expected, had a very tired feeling and we were hit with a musty smell as soon as we walked in the room and each subsequent re-entry. There were no towels for the outside pool and very few for the indoor pool, which was a pleasant surprise as the weather didn't cooperate for the entire trip. My son loved the indoor pool, except for the crumbling deck which cut his foot on two occasions. I reported this to the management who I feel responded with the appropriate level of concern and interest. However, this experience just topped off the feeling that the entire facility needed a refresh not just the roads, landscaping and bike trails. I would not recommend this facility until the refreshes are completed. Mar 15, 2011 - Last year we stayed at Litchfield Beach Resort for 3 nights and this years we just stayed one night. It all was very nice at the condo and resort, very friendly. We walked on the beach,; went to Garden City; ate at Admiral Flagship and Applewood; walked the Broadway at North Myrtle Beach and shopped until we dropped. All was great fun and very good service. Mar 13, 2011 - My wife and I had a great time at Litchfield. The staff at the front desk did a great job as well as the Starbucks staff next to the front desk. The room was very clean and up to date. It even had an HDTV(LCD), which was perfect for us to catch the ACC tourney if we had more time. The room was equipped with a nice kitchen, very pleasing shower, and beautiful ocean view." I would like to think that the good people at the resort trained the Dolphins to put on the ocean show the first morning but that may be a stretch. But it was great to see the school of dolphins playing around in the ocean." The free breakfast pass was a touch of class at Webster's which is on the grounds at the resort. And as stated before my wife loved having easy access to Starbucks. I love the location because every year our anniversary falls on the colleges spring break. Being at Litchfield we can get into Myrtle Beach within minutes and still have a peaceful sleep away from the partying coeds. And please don't forget about that Great sunrise. Wow. My wife and I stay in room 408 Bridgewater & I highly recommend it to you. Jan 16, 2011 - Location - about 20 min to anything in Myrtle Beach. Accessibility - whole resort is not wheelchair friendly at all. Upon arrival, wheelchair could not get into the lobby without driving all way around to back parking lot and coming in the back way. Second trails throughout the whole resort are not accessible. You usually have to go way out the way to find a ramp or curb cut for wheelchairs. This is a real simple and not costly fix to cut curbs for wheelchairs. Getting to beach is impossible - no ramps. Manager said "You have to drive about 3 or 4 miles to Litchfield public access point". WOW So, if you have a wheelchair do not go to this resort!!!!!!
