Ocean Reef ResortCourtesy of TripAdvisor Reviews for Ocean Reef Resort of Myrtle Beach
October 9, 2011 - We had a very relaxing stay in one of the multi bedroom condos. The property was very clean and the staff friendly. It has one of the nicer pool areas to choose from in the area with a lap pool, smaller pool under cover, a lazy river and 4 hot tubs. The exercise area has a nice variety of equipment and there are sauna in the men and womens shower rooms. We prefer to stay ocean front usually and were reluctanct to choose ocean view, but the view from the south tower was as nice as any ocean front (just won't see the sunrise from your room). We've stayed here before and I have to say the condo units are nicer than the hotel rooms. September 28, 2011 - I came out there on a family trip right before the summer and everyone from the front desk, to management to housekeeping left my whole family in amazement. The whole staff was very friendly and customer service oriented. Great beachfront view at a even greater price. I would recommend this resort to anyone coming to Myrtle Beach for any amount of time!!!!!! September 5, 2011 - We had a great stay at the Ocean Reef Resort. I highly recommend the two bed room suite. The suite was very clean. The staff from check in to check out was wonderful. The pools and lazy river were well maintained. This was a family vacation with a total of 8 adults and 5 children. I am sure the rest of the family enjoyed there stay as well in their rooms. On a scale of 1-10 I rate the resort 10. God willing if we decide on Myrtle Beach as our family vacation spot next year, we will surely stay at Ocean Reef. August 7, 2011 - My family and I stayed here for 5 days the beginning of August. I was worried about getting a beach front ocean view at such a bargain. I have to say the room was VERY clean and up to date. Our view was amazing, our balcony faced the ocean, my husband and I enjoyed having coffee on it every morning watching the sun rise. The room had a little kitchen area and a few dishes. The resort does not offer a complimentary breakfast so we purchased some breakfast items at the local grocery. The pools are fantastic, there are 2 pools, a lazy river, 4 spa hot tubs, and a childrens area. We also enjoyed the pool side bar and grill. I would not recommend this resort for a romantic get-away but for a family vacation it could not be more perfect! August 1, 2011 - The staff was wonderful and always helpful and pleasant. The room was clean and we had a beautiful view of the beach. Some rooms had views that were angled views of the beach, however, mine was not. The pool area is very large and had a lot of different things for the kids to do. The downside of this resort was the parking situation. All parking is across the street. BUT, I didn't allow that to hinder our good time. There are a few spots allotted at the front door for loading and unloading. We checked in and our room was ready immediately and we only waited in line approximately five minutes. After I unloaded, a few friends were in line to check in. They waited almost an hour. The lobby is very small and was hard to walk thru while check in was going on. I would return to Ocean Reef and I would also recommend this hotel to family and friends! July 20, 2011 - We just came back from staying 5 days at the Ocean Reef Resort last week. I wasn't sure what to expect for the price we paid (they run several discounted programs). It was actually quite nice. We rented the rooms with a kitchenette so we could eat in. The rooms were clean and a good size. The kitchen, although tiny, was perfect for our needs. The hotel offered daily kid program activities, a game room, onsite restaurants, cafe and multiple pools. My son loved spending half the day on the beach (which is a few steps from the pool) and half the day in one of the many pools. He loved the child's pool that had a sunken pirate ship and other features. Having never been to Myrtle Beach before I was grateful that we stayed here which is NORTH Myrtle Beach. The traffic was light and easy to get around to all the events and sites. The only downside really was the parking. There is a dedicated parking lot for the hotel and a parking garage, but beware if you come back after 9pm. It's hard to find a space without having to park a block or two down from the hotel. Normally I wouldn't mind, but when you're carrying groceries, souvenirs, etc. it's a bit of a hassle. I think most of the hotels are this way though. June 12, 2011 - Very clean. As soon as we walked into the room it smelled fresh. We needed maintenance twice for minor things , the front desk had them up within 10 minutes. Housekeeping was very courteous, as was everyone. We traveled with 2 teenagers and a two year old. We stayed in the north tower one bedroom condo. Enjoyed having our own washer and dryer and full kitchen. We will be back!!! June 4, 2011 - This is a great place to stay for the price and location. We have stayed at other properties in Myrtle Beach and this is by far one of the nicest and cleanest hotels in the area. Our room was very clean and had a great kitchen area, with a refrigerator, stove, sink, and microwave. The hotel offers several pools that are very family friendly and even have a bar area by the pool. I was a little concerned about the parking after reading other reviews, but it is really not a big deal. The parking is located across the street from the hotel and the hotel is located on a less busy part of the street. Bottom line - this is a great place to stay and we will definitely stay here in the future! We are already planning our return trip! May 13, 2011 - Nice clean rooms and staff was really friendly. The poolside BBQ was really handy and the lady doing it (sorry don’t know her name) was happy and friendly. Pool and grounds were kept very clean and tidy everyday. We had a great time and will definitely be booking for another stay next year. Apr 21, 2011 - We planned a last minute get away and were able to find a room at the Ocean Reef. We arrived at 2:30 and our King Junior Suite was ready and check-in was fairly seamless. The only drawback was waiting in the line for the elevators which were not plentiful on the North Wing. The room was great, although the Junior Suites have a pretty small living room area. When you pull out the bed from the couch, there is no getting around the bed. We would have preferred the regular King suite, but they were sold out. It also would have been nice to be on the South side (facing the pool) as our 2nd floor suite faced the parking lot. That said, we were happy to have found a room at all, as it was spring break week. The room was very clean and looked recently refurbished. Other than wishing we had a dishwasher and maybe a larger frig, everything was very well situated and well appointed. The hotel amenities are great and, although it's at least 10 stories, you still get the feel of being close to everything and being in a safe atmosphere (the second floor was particularly convenient). The pools and the beach are just a stroll from the room, as is the restaurant, game room, and exercise room. The staff was very attentive and responded immediately to any needs or questions that we had. We will not hesitate to stay here again and plan to make this hotel our go-to place to stay in Myrtle Beach! Apr 18, 2011 - Whenever we are talking about going to the beach, we look at the Ocean Reef website. We pick our dates and check for availability. Then we call and always get a friendly voice to make our reservations. The process is easy and fun as we put in our requests. We ask for the same room and have always been pleasantly surprised at check in. Our last stay we indeed got the same room, and all of our senses were being stimulated again. The sights, the sound, the smell, the taste were all in use. What a fabulous way to unwind and relax. The room that we love so much has a kitchenette and that was recently renovated. Wonderful new cabinets and a new apartment size refridge. It doesn't get any better. At the Ocean Reef you are minutes from downtown Myrtle Beach, golf courses and some of the best entertainment on the East Coast. The weather is always wonderful. It truly is like a home away from home. Mar 30, 2011 - I enjoyed my stay at the Ocean Reef in Myrtle Beach, SC. Just to wake up and to open your sliding door and look out over the ocean from the 15th floor was a great way to get the day started. The pool and hot tub were great to relax, as well as the food in the restaurant were great. I would stay here again the next time I want to book a golf vacation to Myrtle Beach, SC. Mar 27, 2011 - Husband and I went on a retirement house hunting trip. Staff at front desk and in restaurant and bar were very friendly and offered any local info, we needed to help us on our search. We had a King Parlor and it was spacious and had 3 balconies. Entire property was clean and in a great residential area of the northern section of Myrtle Beach. Will definately come back to this property and do recommend without hesitation to anyone wanting a great family place not in the heart of the city. Mar 26, 2011 - We stayed at the Ocean Reef Resort on our way home from Florida, did the same last year. We used to stay there when it was the Martinique. The hotel has been very well maintained - in fact noticed the carpet in room & on balcony had been replaced since last year. The staff is always welcoming & friendly. We will definitely return & hopefully stay longer next time. Send us your review of Ocean Reef Resort today. Check out our complete list of Myrtle Beach Hotels.
