Founder's Club
Walk the Newest Addition of the Waccamaw Trail
Introducing the newest addition to hit the Waccamaw Trail, and the first south strand course in eight years, the Founder’s Club. This course looks to be a ray of sunshine in a cloudy sky. Myrtle Beach is known as the “golf capital of the world” and the city is filled with great courses. So when a new course comes around it may be hard for them to get the recognition they deserve unless they carry a unique perspective.
This is where the Founder’s Club steps in like a breath of fresh air. Here you’ll find a perfectly refreshing course filled with the best amenities a golf course has to offer. The Founder’s Club is highlighted by its Emerald Bermuda grass, as it is one of only two golf courses in the United States to have it. Emerald Bermuda grass can tolerate the hot summer heat and at the same time it requires less water. And not to be outdone by the beauty of the greens, the Founder’s Club has even thought to have the waste land reflect the south strand’s terrain with a bright shade of orange sand.
Located on the former site of the former Sea Gull Golf Club, this $7 million reconstruction project started from scratch in 2006 and is now looking to shake the foundations of the Myrtle Beach golf scene. This masterpiece designed by Thomas Walker, formerly of Gary Player Design Group, has everything a golfer needs. Have you ever looked forward to a relaxing day on the green, only to see that everyone else was looking forward to the same? That problem is eliminated at the Founder’s Club. Here you’ll happily discover that the pro shop utilizes GPS software to evaluate the pace of play.
Designed with players of all skill levels in mind, it has five sets of tees available for every course. So after a challenging couple of rounds on Myrtle Beach’s newest 6,910 yards course, relax and enjoy a few additional rounds in the new 5,000 square foot clubhouse. The club house features a pro shop, dining facility, meeting facilities and bar. All of which overlooks the 10th and 18th greens. It’s everything you need in a golf course and it’s opening February 1st, 2008.
