With over 240 officers and staff member it is easy to see why everything from hurricanes to traffic tickets are handled swiftly and with care. With services like neighborhood watch, animal control, beach patrol and crime prevention, the only thing you need to worry about is having fun. And these officers are truly here for you, as they are approachable for all your Myrtle Beach needs and concerns.

There will be plenty of people interested in your safety during your next visit to Myrtle Beach. Before you go for a swim, the lifeguards will have raised one of three flags to let you know how the water is. With a yellow safety flag, you know a lifeguard is on duty. A blue safety flag, there's aquatic danger. And if you see a red safety flag then there's no swimming allowed. For your safety please be aware and obey all safety flags.

Lifeguards and police officers will not be the only ones looking out for you on your next trip to Myrtle Beach. The fire department is committed to do whatever they can to make sure your trip is a safe one. Led by Fire Chief Alvin Payne, these units are known as the "First Responder" on medical calls.
